Since mine is a LH model, there are no extended lifters available so at Guncat's suggestion I reached out to Jeff Cockrum and he is going to weld up a factory lifter for me. It has a good price and has positive reviews. I think i am going to go the Taran Tactical route. Like you, i am having a hard time justifying the price for a small tab. I also still need to order a lifters for them. Whats another 60 bucks on a 1200 gun I have not had time ever shoot. I couldn’t decide either and eventually said screw it.
I have to weight what I want and the price. I saw those on Benelli's site and figured I would look at aftermarket options and most of the well known aftermarket are half the price of the factory. I ordered the factory Benelli bolt release for mine. While I am sure this works just fine, it is not the look I am going for. I don't do competition and never will, I just enjoy hitting the range when I can. I came across this solution in my research. I am sure youtube would have a video demonstrate this. You can hit the bolt release with the fingers of your weak hand after sweeping a shell mounted on the 'match saver' into the open ejection port, all can be done within 2 seconds after locked back. How useful is this for someone that is never going to compete with the shotgun or use it for self defense? The other part I noticed is that i have a left handed model and I don't see a extended lift gate with a left handed option. I have seen a lot of youtube videos talking about opening up the loading port and getting an extended lift gate. Anyone have any others I have not found and what are peoples options on the Arredondo and Taran models? I am not seeing anything that would justify the price. I noticed the GG&G is about $100 more then the Arredondo and Taran models. I am not fond of the round buttons so that rules the Nordic out. I found the Taran Tactical, Nordic, Arredondo and GG&G. I would like to add a extended bolt release button but, i am finding the options kind of limiting.
